Janssen PMP & Cultural Heritage
Janssen PMP supports the UNESCO Chair on Preventive Conservation, Maintenance and Monitoring of Monuments in collaboration with KULeuven. Within the framework of this collaboration, and with active support from Janssen PMP, a six-day workshop entitled "Planning tools on urban heritage conservation for development" was organised in Amber Palace, Jaipur, India from January 27 until February 1, 2011.
Organisers were the Raymond Lemaire International Centre for Conservation (RLICC) and several governmental organisations from India, including ASI and the Indian Heritage Cities Network.
The workshop was attended by no less than 50 Indian government officials and addressed urban planning, legislation, heritage mapping and inventory, preventive conservation, management plans, and biodeterioration of monuments. Speakers were invited from all over India, from RLICC (Leuven), from the city of Strasbourg and from Janssen PMP. Jan Bosselaers presented contributions on "Biodeterioration of stone and ceramic structures" and "Biodeterioration of wood and organic artifacts".
