Janssen WOCOSEN® Propiconazole receives a positive BPR approval for PT8 uses
Beerse, Belgium, 6 February 2015 – Janssen PMP, a division of Janssen Pharmaceutica NV, has announced that the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) has approved and published their inclusion as a substance supplier of Propiconazole (WOCOSEN®) under the EU Biocidal Products Regulation 528/2012 (BPR), for use as an active substance for “Product Type 8”, wood preservation.
ECHA is responsible for the publication of the list of relevant substances and the respective substance and product suppliers, in accordance with Article 95 of the BPR. Janssen PMP submitted an application in accordance with Article 95 of the BPR which has been found compliant by ECHA.

We are of course extremely pleased with this ECHA decision, our listing and the resultant regulatory confidence this provides for our customers said Dr. Adrian Gray, Janssen PMP’s European Regulatory Manager. “Following this positive listing, Janssen PMP can supply Letters of Access to Propiconazole data with immediate effect for customers wishing to register their wood preservative formulations.
