Marine & yacht

A fouled hull can cause a ship to use 40% more energy. In addition, a fouled ship often carries invasive species over the oceans potentially disrupting aquatic ecosystems. To prevent such undesirable situations, we use antifouling paints.

Aquaculture

Fish farming in sea cages relies on healthy and fast-growing fish, for which you need clean and oxygen-rich water. That is why clean nets are essential, as fouled nets obstruct smooth water exchange. On top of that, fish pathogens or parasites such as sea lice gladly cling to these fouled nets, causing diseases to spread.

To prevent fouling of aquaculture net pens, fish farmers mostly use nets impregnated with an antifouling coating product based on ECONEA®. Additionally, it allows farmers to reduce maintenance costs.

The cleaner the nets, the healthier the fish.

Quality management

When aiming to establish a more sustainable world, we need to carefully manage the available resources. The better we protect our crops, the more efficiently we can nourish mankind.

The right product keeps produce just as fresh, firm and juicy at the end of a long storage period, as it was when it was harvested. It provides producers with a longer sales window, which allows them to get fresh produce to people from all walks of life. Customers get the best quality for the right price, while, at the same time, it helps make food less exclusive.

It also saves land and water, lowering the ecological footprint of everyone involved.

In a way, quality management sustains both our planet and the people inhabiting it.

FUNGAFLOR®

FUNGAFLOR® is a water-soluble powder or granule recommended for the preventive, curative and anti-sporulant control of storage diseases of citrus.

The renowned FUNGAFLOR® is the ultimate product for postharvest citrus and is based on the active ingredient imazalil. Launched in the early 70s, it is the unrivalled reference on the market to this day. It is fit for all possible application methods and therefore extremely versatile.

PENBOTEC®

PENBOTEC® is an ideal solution because of its broad spectrum of activity and in case of resistant strains to other active ingredients. The product can be used in pome fruits as well as in citrus fruits and stone fruits. It offers both preventive and curative activity.

It is based on the active ingredient pyrimethanil and has a proven track record in the market as a premium postharvest treatment for the control of postharvest diseases. PENBOTEC® is suitable for a variety of application methods such as dip, drench, and flooder applications, as well as aqueous and wax-line spray applications.

PHILABUSTER®

Used worldwide for the treatment of the main post-harvest diseases of citrus fruits and pome fruits, PHILABUSTER® is a fungicide that offers preventive, curative and anti-sporulation activity.

It can be used in dip and wash tanks, drenchers, aqueous line spray and in wax line spray systems. The objective is to obtain an even cover of the fruit surface with a sufficient residue for qualitative long-term storage and a good shelf life afterwards.

PHILABUSTER® combines imazalil sulphate and pyrimethanil, two fungicides with different modes of action and a high level of efficacy.

FYSIUM® (1-MCP)

Time is on your side

The optimum moment to sell your fruit is limited. On one hand your produce has to be of high quality. On the other, too much supply to the market in a short time frame will push down prices, cutting into already tight margins and may limit availability to consumers in other periods.

FYSIUM® provides that essential link in the fruit-quality value chain, resulting in fruit that is just as fresh, firm and juicy at the end of a long storage period as it was when it was harvested. Time is on your side.

Material Protection

Just as we take care of ourselves every day, antimicrobials can help us to control harmful organisms that can be present on surfaces or in materials or products to make them safer to humans, to extend their shelf life or to improve their performance.

We offer a range of antimicrobials in a variety of industrial applications such as metalworking/functional fluids, plastics, textiles, leather, construction materials, paints, coatings, adhesives, sealants and caulks.

Antifouling

Since 90% of traded goods world-wide are carried over sea, both our planet and the people living on it have a lot to gain from effective control of soft and hard fouling of the vessels carrying these products. Preventing such organisms from clinging to the hull of a ship results in less fuel consumption and helps to safeguard biodiversity, while clean aquaculture nets are essential for fish welfare. Janssen PMP has developed leading-edge antifouling products for both applications.
